4: Transport and Communication (GK With Reference to Jammu and Kashmir UT)

The railway line between Jammu and Udhampur was started in 1981-82 & completed by 1997-98.· The mobile telephony was launched by BSNL in Aug. 2003 in J&K.· The JKSRTC started the first vehicle on Khardun La pass in 1962.

Baramulla to Srinagar Jhelum valley cart road was completed during the region of Pratao sing.· Road is the largest transport in J&K.· Pratap Singh was the person who explored the possibility of a railway in J&K.· In J&K there are four National Highways: NH-1A, NH-1B, NH-1C and NH-1D.· NH-44 is not part of NH- 44 & its total length is 663 km.· The total length of NH-1B is 274 and links Batote and Khanbal.· NH-1C, renamed NH-144 is shortest N.H of 8 km connects Domail and Katra.· NH-1D, now part of NH-1 connects Srinagar and Leh.· Mughal Road is 84 km long.

In 1942 the first vehicle was registered under Registration no. J&K-1.· The railway line from Udhampur to Katra was completed in 2014.· The length of Basoli Bride is 592.· In J&K Jammu region has maximum road length.· Chenni-Nashri Tunnel is India’s longest all weather road tunnel.· Basoli bridge is the fifth cable stayed bridge in India.

5 : Jammu and Kashmir Budget for year 2022 – 23 (Allocation of Budget Analysis)

Goal & Aim: Lt. Gov. said aim and goal of Budget 2022-23 “The immediate goal is to accelerate the peace of economic development in J&K UT and make it multi-dimensional”.Panchayati Raj and Urban Local Bodies : Allocation of Rs 13313 crore. The aim is to strengthening the grassroot democratic setup in the J&K UT.Jal Shakti Dept. : Allocation of 9,289.15 crore for the Jal Shakti Dept. The aim to achieve the target of 100 percent piped water supply to all the masses of the J&K UT.Agriculture: Rs 2,835 crore have been sanctioned for agriculture sector. The aim to double the income of the farmers’ income in planned manner.Horticulture: Rs 646 crore for horticulture. The goal is to cultivate the high yielding and high density crops.Animal Sheep & Fisheries: Rs 391,90 for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries sector. The goal is to set up the 2,000 diary units an employment to 5000 people of J&K UT.Health: Rs, 7,873 Crore for the Health Sector. The target to achieve is to provide best medical facilities to all the people of the J&K UT.

Education: Rs 11,832 crore for Schol and Higher Education Dept. The target to achive is to establish 500 Kindergartens in Govt. Schools; also 518 Smart Classrooms and 200 Vocational Laboratories.Industries & Commerce: Rs 1,003 Crore is the allocation for the Industries and Commerce. The aim will be to take the industry and Commerce sector to the new heights in the J&K UT.Financial Assistance: Rs 200 Crore for the financial assistance to the students of the J&K UT.Social Welfare: Rs 3,203 Crore for the benefits of the Welfare schemes of disabled people of J&K UT.Tourism: Rs. 508 Crore for the tourism of growth of J&K UT.Boarder Villages: Rs 600 Core for border villages and 50 Crore under the Samridh Seema Yojana.

Smart City: Rs. 200 Crore for Smart City Mission.

8 :Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act-2019 ( GK With Special Reference to Jammu And Kashmir) JKSSB

On 5th Aug. 2019 govt. scraped the Article 370 of J&K and made it UT.· A person who has passed 10th or 12th or have studied for 7 years in the UT of J&K will be its domicile.· According to J&K Reorganization Act 2019 the Lt. Gov. is Administrator of UT by Article 239 by the President.· For Domicile of J&K UT a person should be living for Fifteen years in J&K.· In J&K UT the Election Commission of was appointed by the President under Article 324.· In J&K UT the Legislative Council of J&K State was abolished.· In J&K UT there will be 107 Assembly seats.

In JK UT Legislative Assembly 23 seats shall remain vacant for POK.· In JK UT LG can nominate two representatives of women in J&K Assembly.· In the Assembly of JK UT CM will have council of ministers not more than 10% of Assembly.· In the Pat-1 (Preliminary) of Reorganization Act- 2019 gives the name of Act and definition of imp. Terms.· J&K Reorganization Act came in to effect from 31st Oct. 2019.· JK UT Official Languages are five: Dogri, Urdu, Hindi, English, & Kashmiri.· Part- II of Reorganization Act-2019 deals with Reorganization of J&K State.· Part- III of Reorganization Act-2019 deals with Representation in the Legislatures.· Part- IX deals with Advocate-General of UT of J&K.· Part- VIII of Reorganization Act-2019 deals with High Court.

Part- X deals with Authorization of Expenditure & Distribution of Revenues.· Part- XI deals with Apportionment of Assets and Liabilities.· Part- XII deals with Provisions as to Certain Corporations & any Other Maters.· Part- XIV deals with Leal & Miscellaneous Provisions.· Part-IV of Reorganization Act-2019 deals with Administration of Ladakh UT.· Part-V of Reorganization Act-2019 deals with Delimitation of Constituencies.· Part-VI of Reorganization Act-2019 deals with SC and ST.· Part-VII deals with the Miscellaneous and Transitional Provisions.· Pat- XII of Reorganization Act-2019 deals with Provisions as to Srvices.· The J&K Reorganization Act 2019 has 14 parts.

The J&K UT have legislature as Puduchery; Ladakh have no legislature like Chandigarh.· The J&K UT will be held after five years.· The JK UT Legislative Assembly can make laws for both State & Concurrent List.· The Reorganization Act divides the JK State in to J&K UT and Ladakh UT.· The UT of JK is with a legislature and UT of Ladakh without legislature.
