Srinagar: The J&K government Govt of India has warned students and parents at J&K to stop seeking admission to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) medical college, saying the qualifications will not be accepted by authorized authorities in India.

The notice prepared by the Department of Health and Medical Education today is a preliminary notice issued by the National Medical Commission, the accrediting and regulatory authority for all medical and registration courses in India. www.jk.gov.in

As the notice states, “Any qualifications obtained from medical colleges located within the illegal occupations of India will not give a person permission to register under the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 to use modern medicine in India.”

It may be noted that no doctor can prescribe drugs in India until they are registered with the NMC.

J & K’s Executive Secretary for Government, Health and Medical Education Vivek Bharaj said the announcement was intended to remind people of the consequences of being admitted to medical colleges unknown to the NMC Govt of India.
