Editorial | Parents – The Invaluable Asset!

On this earth, parents are the blessed creatures that love us more than anything and anyone else. They are the epitome of love, generosity, and compassion. The exalted lord of the universe created man and imbued human flesh with all types of what are regarded as humanistic attributes. This is the main justification for calling man the “Crown of the Creation.” Parents are among the most selfless, giving, sympathetic, and kind-hearted people in the universe. They are constantly available for their children and show them love in an unwavering, unconditional manner. The unmatched sacrifices made by parents for their children continue to rank at the top and cannot in any way be compensated. The Holy Quran frequently underlines the importance of treating parents kindly. The Quran says, “We have enjoined on man kindness to his parents; in pain did his mother bear him, and in pain did she give him birth” (46:15).  The magnitude of excruciating labor pain a mother undergoes is unbearable and counts among the most painful times. The blessed Prophet due to the high status of a mother mentioned, “Your heaven lies under the feet of your mother”. Abdullah Ibn Umar saw a Yemeni man performing Tawâf (circumambulating the Ka’bah) while carrying his mother on his back. This man said to Abdullah Ibn Umar, “I am like a tame camel for her! I have carried her more than she carried me. Do you think I have paid her back, O Ibn Umar?” Abdullah Ibn Umar replied, “No, not even one contraction! “All of us must acknowledge and appreciate the unparalleled sacrifices and endless care of our parents.” May Allah bless our parents!
