Amarnath Ratra Fresh batch of 5,726 pilgrims start journey to Kashmir valley.

A batch of fresh 5,726 pilgrims left Jammu on Thursday morning for the Valley to have a glimpse of holy cave, officials said. 

They said over 80,000 devotees have so far performed the ongoing Amarnath Yatra. The officials said 5,726 pilgrims left Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu for the valley in two escorted convoys. “

Out of the fresh numbers, 2,109 will travel to Baltal base camp while 3,617 are going to Pahalgam base camp”, they added. They also added that those using the Baltal route have to trek 14 kms to reach the cave shrine while those using the Pahalgam route have to cross 48 kms. 

Notably on Wednesday 5,982 pilgrims had left the Baghwati Nagar base camp in Jammu and travelled toward Kashmir valley after the improvement in weather. 

This year helicopter service from Srinagar to Panchtarni was facilitated for pilgrims in order to make their journey hassle-free.

The 43-long day Yatra commenced on June 30 and is scheduled to end on August 11 on the occasion of ‘Shravan Purnima’ coinciding with Raksha Bandhan. Amarnath Ratra Fresh batch
